Sorry I've been neglecting my duties to write, there have been many a drama/injuries& general misadventures that have been occupying my oh so precious time. Needless to say things are back to (some kind of) normal now and hopefully we'll all get back to enjoying what 2011 has to offer!

One of the things I miss most about Sydney (and the one thing hopefully that'll never change -come flood or drought!) is the excellent sea food, and well food in general. To start, dear readers, i finally am able to provide photographic evidence of my favorite meal. We start off with the vegies in small plate (egg plant & bitter melon) moving onto harbour prawns - by the way, i took out my phone as soon as i see the dish approaching our table but by the time i actually hit 'click', well you can see we've already started) to finally, the only real way to eat fish, any amazing fresh fish - soy sauce, shallots, and the tiniest bit of ginger.

Which is not to say y'all westerners cant do fish well. Au contraire, Fish Face definitely does more than impress. The owner -chef was the head chef at Le Pier - Sydney longest standing seafood extraordinaire. He reached the age, as all great chef do, when he decided it was time to keep things small and simple. Walk ins only after 7pm, keep it neighborhood-y and the place small enough he can see everyone enjoy their food. I guess we lucked out it is practically within walking distance to our place. The place also boats by far Sydney and dare I say it the world's best fries. Most chips, on first taste blows your mind, but for me the true test is always whether the mysterious "freshness" stay until the very last fry. It is easy, especially truffle fries, to pile on the grease/oil and thus achieving that amazing smell and satisfying first few bites, but normally half way through the bucket, I'm secretly wishing there was a tube behind my throat where all the grease and oil can go instead of down my stomach. This never happens with Steve Hodges' fries and assault charge or not, i will never stop worshiping at this temple!

Other notable mentions, Spice I Am still deliver the pork and spice like no other, but definetly not as impressive as it once was (or cheap!). The pork is in small chunks buried underneath the vegies, which, i guess is healthier but really, i came for the pork belly! Pad Thai still excellent for sure, and their Mo Po well...is still dangerous!

Disappointment recently however is Rockpool. It use to be an alternative to Le Pier, a beacon of the Rock's fine dinning, and now it is just another has been, another restuarant banking on it's past glory, catering to tourists and the suburbs, sigh. Oh but i have to mention how much i adore Sarah, when she saw the final desert, she exclaimed, "oh look, mud, looks yummy!" Yes, mud does look yummy no?
But lets end on a good note no? The place without a name. See it is soo so close to us, but we never actually bothered to remember its name. Simple aussie fish and chips, but to do it well....an art for sure! YUM YUM!
